There’s been a lot of talk recently about the new PicoSure tattoo removal technology, and we’ve been asked whether we will be switching away from our Spectra XT. The answer? Definitely Not!
It all comes down to physics.
In a nutshell, different wavelengths have different impacts on specific colors of tattoo ink within the skin. You need a series of different wavelengths to properly hit the depth of blacks, greens, yellows, reds, and other colors. There’s no such thing as a “do-it-all” wavelength. With the Spectra XT, there are four TRUE wavelengths, whose energy represents the depth of the ink in your skin. These wavelengths have the strongest ability of any laser to break down inks.
1064: This wavelength hits black/Dark Blue/Brown, which is the deepest and easiest to remove.
532: This wavelength hits red/orange, which is the most shallow in the skin.
585: This wavelength hits Sky blue.
650: targets green ink, which can be some of the toughest to remove.
The PicoSure uses one wavelength: 755. Why? In the early days of laser tattoo removal, 755 was the golden number. Although these lasers work, it doesn’t go deep enough to hit the blacks, let alone remove them. When it comes to blues and greens, the wavelength goes past them.
Recently, the PicoSure has added a 532 wavelength – which we have been using for Years on the Q-switched laser!
Carbon Laser Peel was first developed and introduced in Asia. Since then, it has become one of the most popular and effective anti-aging treatments. It is said that Carbon Laser Peel has revolutionized the way people take care if their skin. With the Carbon Laser Peel, you’re able reinvigorate your facial skin while reducing the size of your pores. It also helps even your skin tone and color through collagen stimulation. You can also treat acne without any form of medication. People who once suffered oily skin claim that their face now produces less excess oil than before just as they have finished their first two sessions!
Rosacea (pronounced as ro-zay-sha) is one of the few common red benign skin conditions that affects millions of people all over the world. This condition appears like acne and has affected at least 16 million people from all walks of life. Oftentimes, Caucasians as well as those having fair skin are the ones that likely to acquire rosacea.
Price at consultation – will depend on the areas effected
Yes, it is. Laser therapy is an abrasive free treatment that will not only reduce the redness in your skin but will also improve the overall appearance of your skin both on the inside and the outside. If you want to look good without breaking the bank, opting for a laser therapy is a smart, effective choice.
Typical side effects of light-based rosacea treatment include temporary redness, as well as itching and swelling at the treatment site, which may last a few days. Other possible side effects include blistering, prolonged redness, bruising, peeling, rash, lightening or darkening of skin color, and removal or lightening of freckles. There is a risk of incidental hair reduction or hair removal in the treated areas. Rare but possible side effects include scarring.
Most people resume regular activities immediately following the treatment session.
You normally will see some improvement immediately. Depending on the severity of your condition, two or more treatments may be necessary to achieve the best results.
Most people feel minimal discomfort during light-based treatment for rosacea
The procedure can be performed in as little as 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
Pulses of light target and treat the blood vessels that are responsible for the chronic redness that appears on your skin. Once the vessels responsible for the redness are treated, the redness and rash can disappear. Best of all, rosacea treatment can provide skin tone improvement by diminishing the appearance of broken blood vessels and acne-like breakouts associated with this common skin condition.
Majority of dermatological processes are usually flocked by high volume of patients suffering from acne. Most of these patients do not only want to remove the unsightly acne on their face but they also want to have a blemish-free skin after the breakout. For some people, they need to wait for several months before the lesions and the redness go away. During this period, patients usually make use of make-up to cover the imperfections on their face. However, for some patients, the redness reminds them of the breakout that they once endured.
One of the most common skin conditions that have affected both adolescents and adults alike is acne. There’s a lot of reason why there are some people who are affected by acne breakouts. Some of these reasons include diet, stress and can be symptoms of far more serious diseases.
You can easily pinpoint someone suffering from rosacea since the skin turns red or pink. Having small red bumps containing cysts and pus can also be apparent symptoms of rosacea. However, people are suffering from rosacea themselves don’t know whether their skin condition is actually diagnosable and treatable. People having rosacea sometimes mistakenly assume that they are just flushed or blushing.
Nail polish should be removed at least 2 days prior to the procedure. You are able to wear nail polish directly after, however it is advised to perform the pedicure yourself, or visit a salon that uses sterile instruments and liners in foot spas, in order to prevent reinfection.
The laser procedure will only take 30-40 minutes. No anaesthetic is required and you can immediately put on your footwear and walk back to work.
Results are not immediate, but rather as the nail grows you will notice new, healthy growth from the nail base. Nails grow slowly so a complete result is not observed until 3 – 4 months following the procedure.
A course of between 4 – 7 sessions is required (depending on the severity of your infection), 4 weeks apart is recommended for optimum results.
Laser therapy does not work for everyone. If laser doesn’t work on your nails, speak to your local doctor about the next steps in therapy. This is usually oral medication.
No! There is no pain. During the treatment, the laser will pass across the nail. The laser beam will gently generate heat beneath the nail and within the underlying fungal colony. You will feel a mild to moderate heat sensation however when this is no longer tolerable, the laser stops straight away and the discomfort subsides immediately. As the laser has no effect on healthy tissue, there are no side effects or downtime.
Approx. 30 – 40 minutes per session
The Spectra XT 1064 laser emits near-infrared light at a wavelength of 1064 nm which passes through the nail plate and into the nail bed, resulting in heating of the fungi. Exposure of fungi to high temperatures inhibits their growth and replication, resulting in an increase of clear nail.
The laser energy passes through the nail without causing damage to adjacent skin or nail. Only laser can penetrate this effectively through to the nail bed.
Firstly your face will be cleaned of any excess oil, perfumes and make up.
Then, a special carbon lotion is applied to the nose, chin, cheeks and forehead, which penetrates the pores.
The laser passes over the skin, gently heating the carbon, turning it and the dead skin cells into a fine plume, which is released from the skin.
Basically, the thermal heat reaction of the laser and the carbon exfoliates the skin, reduces the size of the pores as it goes, and stimulates the connective tissue.
The skin will then be cleansed, moisturized and a high factor sun screen will be applied.
You will leave the clinic with glowing skin.
No, the treatment is non invasive and gentle, most people describe the sensation as a light tingling feeling. The treatment takes approximately 45 mins from start to finish (please allow an extra 15 minutes for consultation).
A visible difference should be noticed with one individual treatment, but a course of six treatments with a 7-10 day break in between each treatment is advised for maximum results. After treatment your skin will be cleansed and a moisturising treatment applied. As the Carbon Laser Peel gives an instant improvement to skin tone and texture, some people like to have a single session to have porcelain skin before a big event or night out.
SPECTRA Laser Tattoo Removal uses laser energy to significantly lighten or completely remove your tattoo. Ink particles are targeted by the laser energy and broken into small fragments that your body can absorb. Tattoo ink is heavily deposited deep into your skin, and as a result in order to completely remove the tattoo, multiple treatments are required.
Our medical grade, TGA approved laser is one of the most powerful Q-switched Nd:YAG tattoo removal machines on the market.
It is capable of producing four wavelengths to target different tattoo colours. Using different hand pieces, it can target ALL tattoo colours except white, making it the most effective of its kind.
Black and red inks are the easiest to remove, next are green, yellow and orange. The hardest are light greens and light blues and white is very difficult. Generally pastel colours are the most difficult to remove.
The number of treatments required for optimal results depends on the size, location, depth and colour of the tattoo. Treatments should be performed 4 – 8 weeks apart in order to allow your body to remove the tattoo ink fragments.
As your body heals after each session you will notice your tattoo lightening; depending on the colours and inks used, many patients see a complete removal of the ink.
The number of treatments required is based factors such as:

No two tattoos are alike; they vary in the type of ink used, colours, and depth of application. Black and red inks are generally the easiest to remove; blues and greens are moderate, while light colours such as yellow tend to be the hardest. Your laser tattoo removal specialist will be able to tell you what type of results you can expect.
Each session usually takes 10 – 30 minutes and will depend on the size of the tattoo. However, if your Tattoo Removal Specialist applies a numbing agent beforehand, there will be extra time waiting for it to work.
After the laser breaks down the ink, the body’s natural immune processes take over and remove the foreign particles from the broken down ink over time. Surrounding tissue is largely unaffected but not entirely spared, as the process may cause some inflammation to the skin. Numerous sessions are required to gain complete removal, and the body needs 6 – 8 weeks between sessions in order to clear the ink and heal.
